SF Pride 2019: Generations of Resistance

I cannot tell you how honored I was to have been asked to do this event. As the worlds largest PRIDE celebration. And one of the worlds largest festivals. This event was the mother of all events that I have ever dreamed of. SF PRIDE. The month prior I did the corporate registration desk for this event. We were able to secure nearly 300 Comcast NBCUniversal employees for this event. Our participants were including those from our sister companies, Comcast Spotlight, Comcast Innovation Center, NBC News, Bay Area, NBC Sports Bay Area, and Telemundo 48.

The day of the event we set up our Space at the main Stage. We were to be at the Main Stage because Comcast Xfinity hosted a meet & greet with this year’s SF Pride Celebrity Grand Marshals: The cast of the popular Starz original series, VIDAVida. Our booth was a photo booth, where fans could have their picture taken with the cast members. This was a huge attraction at Pride we had a line at our booth all day. Waiting for the cast members to arrive.
Right after the parade ended, Mishel Prada (Emma), Ser Anzoategui (Eddy), Roberta Colindrez (Nico), Chelsea Rendon (Mari), Adrián González (Rudy) and Tonatiuh Elizarraraz (Marcos)

Our culture loves giveaways. So we had Pride colored rose crowns, towels, Vida <3 Pride fans, Rainbow beads, Pride flags, Vida Pride towels, and Sunglasses. We also had a phone charging station for the community. All of this was set up before the festival started.

Here is our Parade Float.
Here are the highlights of the festival. So beautiful and colorful. I love taking photos at festivals.

Out Pride Registration at Comcast Corporate Headquarters

Each year this resource group at Comcast participate in Pride festival. “It’s so important that organizations like Comcast and others come here to Pride and celebrate the diversity that we have in our employees and customers,” said Beth Hester, Vice President of External Affairs at Comcast California. This year was the Stonewall Anniversary celebration. SF theme was Generations of Resistance. We were having a float, and our booth was at the main stage as we were hosting meet and greet with the cast members of Starz Hit Show Vida. So this year was so important to get as many local sign ups for this event. Out at Comcast needed representation in the market. I was asked by the Lead Board Member of Out to o do the registration desk at the corporate office. The was a huge honor for me as out of all the Event specialists in all the seven surrounding markets I was chosen to do the registration desk at corporate headquarters.

Since this was representing Stonewall 50th Anniversary I went back to that time, I decorated as if we were stepping back to that era, the 1970's. I brought in all the old Candy Shop Jars like in Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. I chose all the candies that were popular in that time, but with the colors of Pride. It was so beautiful. It attracted many employees and we  signed nearly 300 Comcast NBCUniversal employees up to the event.
